In the first image we see the Oracle which is a young beautiful girl used by the priests, called Ephors, having already been bribed by Xerxes, interpret the message to mean that Sparta should not go to war, so as to not interrupt the sacred Carneian festival, thus preventing the Spartans from defending their territory. Despite the words from the Ephors, Leonidas gather some men and went on to the cliffs of Thermopylae to stop the advance of the Persians. In the second picture we see the Spartans with the Arcadians, who came to battle against the Persians too.
